Are you finding yourself questioning your relationship due to the longevity of your courtship? I find that there are so many people holding out hope that their so called “soul mates” will be “life mates.” The sad fact is that there are people that have been in relationships for over ten years holding on to the promise of a beautiful wedding and are willing to accept that time period and that the person “isn’t quite ready yet!”

In some cases (very rarely) that person is just not ready for marriage. It is up to you to recognize if your partner is preparing himself to be ready or just leading you on.

I mean really, is it fair to string along a good woman or man because you don’t want anyone else to have them? I believe it is totally unacceptable to have 10 and 15 year engagements with no wedding dates in sight! Especially if you both agreed on a time frame.

I guess what I am trying to say to both sides is that:

Side A- If you are holding on and you feel deep down that a lifelong commitment is never going to happen, then you are probably right! Move on! I know it’s easier said than done, but life is too short to hold on to being committed to someone that doesn’t feel the same!

Side B- It’s time to let them go! Being with someone who is ready to be in a life-long union, will not make you ready! You have to be ready! If you are not marriage material you have to let them know. You do realize that karma is real! Karma is like a boomerang, what you throw out is what you get back! You will never receive the blessing of love as long as you deceive.

Well, I guess what I am trying to say in a nutshell is if you are in a relationship, find out where it is going. If you are cool with the destination, and the time that it’s going to take to get there, roll with it. If not get out the car and find another ride.

Peace and Blessings,
